Was your property constructed or renovated before 1980?
Throughout the 1960s to the 1980s, pure loose-fill asbestos was sold as ceiling insulation to residential and commercial premises.
A Canberra based company known as ‘Mr Fluffy’ installed insulation in around 1,000 houses in the ACT, and it is also understood to have installed insulation into homes in NSW.
There is a possibility that the company may have installed this product in Wagga Wagga.
This insulation is particularly problematic because it is raw asbestos which is easy to disturb and fibres can be inhaled.
If loose-fill insulation is present in your investment property we must disclose this to tenants and tradespeople. If you are not sure that your property is affected, please arrange a FREE inspection by going online at www.loosefillasbestos.nsw.gov.au or contact Service NSW on 137 788.
This is an extremely serious matter and requires immediate attention now. If you do register for a free inspection, please alert your Tenancy Manager and list our Agency as your secondary contact.
It is comforting to know that 100’s of properties in Wagga have been inspected, however there are no confirmed cases to date.
For more information please contact your Tenancy Manager.
