When Sally brought in her homemade apple slice for the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea, we knew we had to share it with everyone.
“It’s an oldie but a goodie,” Sally says.
I think the rest of the office would agree that it’s delicious.
Whether you want to share it with others or keep it all to yourself, it’s a must-try!
Ingredients:
Base:
1 packet vanilla cake mix
1 cup coconut
125g margarine/butter
Topping:
1 small tin of apple slices (pie fruit)
1 container sour cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Nutmeg (sprinkle on top)
Method:
- Melt butter and mix with cake mix and coconut. Press into slice tray and bake for 15 minutes in moderate oven.
- While the base cooks, mix the ingredients for the topping together. Put on top, add the nutmeg and cook for a further 20 minutes.
All that’s left is to cut up into slices and enjoy!
