With the flood waters subsiding, many residents of North Wagga and surrounding areas are undertaking the emotional process of restoring and rebuilding their homes. The public support has been overwhelming and the cleanup effort couldn’t have been undertaken so swiftly if the community wasn’t so willing to lend a hand.
Many local sporting teams, community groups and businesses have all rallied together to help those families and businesses resume their normal lifestyle as quickly as possible. If anyone is needing assistance, please contact Fitzpatricks Real Estate on 6921 1555, who are on hand to lend their support and services.
The Wagga Mutual Credit Union has launched the Wagga Wagga Mayor’s Flood Appeal, to help provide much needed goods and emotional support to those who have suffered losses and need to rebuild their lives. Those who would like to assist are encouraged to visit the Wagga Mutual branch or you can make a direct deposit, with all details on the Wagga Mutual website. To date the Wagga Mayor’s Flood Appeal has raised $90,000.
This figure is expected to increase thanks to the ‘Levee Loud’ Concert which will be held this Sunday. There is a fantastic line-up of well-known Australian artists performing including Kasey Chambers, Shane Nicholson and Darren Coggan. There will also be plenty of local artists, comedians, school productions and talent acts. The event hopes to attract many people from around the Riverina, with all funds raised being donated to the Wagga Mayor’s Flood Appeal. The event will kick off at 9am and finish at 9pm at the Wagga Music Bowl on Sunday the 25th of March. Tickets can be purchased at the gate and cost $10 per person or $25 for a family.
