Estella is situated on the elevated northern extreme of Wagga, overlooking the Murrumbidgee River and only five minutes drive to Wagga’s central district.

The suburb is relatively new, with development commencing in the 1980s, and the streets named after crop varieties and individuals historically associated with the nearby Agricultural Research Institute. Located directly to the south of Charles Sturt University and to the west of Boorooma, the southern and western boundaries of the suburb are Old Narrandera Road and Pine Gully Road respectively.

Estella is very popular with academics, support staff and students from CSU, who enjoy the easy proximity to the university. This rapidly expanding suburb enjoys a quiet, rural atmosphere and community feel. Renowned for its peacefulness and security, Estella has always enjoyed a very steady demand from both purchasers and renters of family homes. It is also the location of the expansive Settlers Village retirement complex, which provides a variety of accommodation for the over 55s.
