Out and about in Wagga Wagga

Throughout the month of February there are plenty of attractions and exhibitions to see in the city of Wagga Wagga.  With a number of new residents moving to the city over the last month, now is a great time to get out and about and see all that Wagga Wagga has to offer.

Here are some upcoming attractions

Farmers Market
Saturday 11 February from 8.00 am – 1.00 pm
Held on the second Saturday of every month, with over 30 stalls selling  quality gourmet and organic products.
Where: Wollundry Lagoon, in front of the Civic Theatre

Art on the Levee in February
Saturday 11 February from 9.00 am
Held on the levee banks between the Tourist Information Centre and the ARCC Hall, this outdoor sale of paintings is ideal for art enthusiasts. Held on the second Saturday of each month, weather permitting.

Murrumbidgee Turf Club Race Meeting
Monday 13th February – Gates open at 12.00 noon
The MTC will host a TAB race meeting with 7 local races.
Admittance is $8 for adults and $4 for seniors.

NRL Trial Game
Saturday 18th February – Gates open at 3.30 pm,  main game kicks off at 7.00 pm
Wagga Rugby League is hosting an NRL Trial Game at McDonalds Park, Equex Centre between the Bulldogs and Canberra Raiders.
Tickets can be purchased online at the Wagga City Council website.

Muddi Boutique Markets
Sunday 19th February – Wagga Showgrounds 9.00 am – 2.00 pm
With over 90 stalls, the Muddi Boutique Markets are growing in size and popularity. These markets feature 100% hand made items and support designers, growers and hobbyist from around our region.

Monster Garage Sale
Saturday 25 February  – 154 Tarcutta Street 7.00 am – 3.00 pm
Thousands of items for sale all at cheap prices such as books, toys, household items and much more. There will also be a cake stall, car wash and sausage sizzle during the day.

Markets by the Lake
Saturday 25th February 9.00  am– 2.00 pm
Set on the shores of Lake Albert at Apex Park, these markets offers a wide array of products including art and craft, fresh food, local produce and brick-a-brack. This is a great day out for the whole family with a sausage sizzle, jumping castle, coffee and much more.

2012 World Championship Gumi Race
Sunday 26 February – 10.00 am
The Gumi Race was first staged in 1976 and continued for nearly 20 years. After a few years hiatus, the Gumi Race is now back, much to the delight of local residents. The race begins at Eunony Bridge Reserve and travels 7km to the finish line at the Wagga Beach.
Entry is $10 for singles and $50 for a team. Entry forms can be obtained from the Visitor Information Centre in Tarcutta Street.
