blog_auctioneerOn Tuesday 23rd July the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW) held the Riverina Division of the Novice Auctioneers Competition in Wagga Wagga.

Two up-and-coming auctioneers battled it out on stage to win a place in the prestigious REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition State Final in Sydney in November. The auctioneers for the evening were Carl Willits and Geoff Seymour from Fitzpatricks Real Estate.

The prize went to Geoff Seymour with Carl Willits putting in a strong performance.

Thrilled to be announced the winner, Geoff commented “Carl set the standard very high so I was nervous to start with. Once the auction started I was much more relaxed. I look forward to competing in Sydney in November.”

Each Novice Auctioneer was required to auction off one item at this charity auction event. The two novice auctioneers helped to raise funds to go towards the non-profit organisation Ignite Mentoring.

The winner was determined by the entrant’s ability to present the auction item with confidence and poise, and how well they describe the item and control the bidding.

Last year’s winner Paul Gooden said “The standard was very high and either of the contestants could have won. The future looks promising for up and coming auctioneers”.
