Director Helen Woodhouse, Personal Assistant Sarah Cuell and Sales Consultant Ben Pattison from Fitzpatricks Real Estate are swapping their suits and heels for runners in the Gold Coast Marathon to raise money for a cause very close to Helen’s heart, ‘The Stroke Foundation’.
In May 2017, Helen was training for her first half marathon, she was fit, healthy and as happy as she had ever been (well, so she thought) but at age 33, Helen suffered a stroke. Due to the quick action of her husband Ben, Helen was rushed to emergency ward and was treated immediately leading to no physical long term damage but a massive shock to her mentality and outlook on life. “The stroke opened my eyes to the present moment and what truly matters – time is a gift”.
“Nearly twelve months on, I am back with the support of friends and family to take on that half marathon challenge once again – this time with the purpose of raising awareness of stroke occurrence in young people just like me. I’d love your support as I tackle this very significant goal which I’m sure will become one of my most cherished milestones”.
