Adam Drummond from Fitzpatricks Real Estate has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious John Greig OAM Community Service award in the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) Awards for Excellence.

The REINSW Awards for Excellence aim to encourage, recognise and promote excellence and best practice in the real estate profession, and give official recognition to the industry’s top performers. This Award is awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their local community.

As a Wagga boy, Adam is very passionate about being involved in the community and therefore is affiliated with many associations. He is a founding member, past president and Secretary of Wagga Business NetworX, he is a committee member for Kurrajong Waratah’s largest fund raising event, the Kurrajong Waratah Race Day and more recently Adam was one of the founding members of Ignite, a mentoring program assisting young people to find a new path in their life.

Adam Drummond, Director of Fitzpatricks Real Estate said “I’m deeply honoured to be in the finalists for this community award and love the fact that it really throws light on the organisations that contribute so much to Wagga Wagga, namely Ignite Mentor and Kurrajong Waratah. The timing is really great too as we have the Ignite Mentor’s launch on 22nd September, so it will certainly compliment the evening having this finalist announcement in the lead up to the event.”

He went on to say “I really feel this is a team award nomination. I’m sharing this nomination with other individuals such as Cathie Smith from Kurrajong Waratah, Mary O’Neill from Ignite and Anglicare Riverina, Laurinda Motion from Ignite and Department of Education and Communities, and Jeremy Hutchings from Ignite and Wagga Business NetworX. Without these great people who have offered so much guidance and support the award nomination would certainly not have been considered for finalist recognition.”

This year, entrants in 27 categories will be judged on their knowledge, service, skills and innovation, with winners announced at the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner in Sydney on Saturday, 13 October 2012.

Adam said “Whilst I’m not sure what will happen on the night, it’s a great honour to be amongst such passionate people from their own communities, and past finalists have all been wonderful inspirations. I’m truly humbled to be in such great company.”
