Like other residents and businesses in Wagga Wagga’s CBD, Fitzpatricks Real Estate were among the hundreds of people who were busy preparing their properties in the event the Murrumbidgee River breached or overtopped the levee bank.
Luckily the CBD avoided the disaster, with the river peaking at 10.6 metres, just below the 11 metre levee bank height. Sadly many other parts of our region have not been so lucky. Whilst the water levels here in Wagga Wagga are slowly decreasing, sadly for many residents the recovery and clean up phase now begins. Our thoughts are with those hundreds of people who have been affected by the floods.
